Jim Moscou
CEO @ Spiffly
Innovator, entrepreneur, and strategist, Jim Moscou has brought positive disruption and solutions to all he has done. For more than 20 years, he has led at the highest levels in three professions — journalism, advertising, and social entrepreneurism—and is currently co-founder/CEO of Spiffly, the first-ever discovery platform for fans of natural/organic brands and products.
Previously, Jim served as Chief Executive Officer at Sir Richard’s Condom Company, a social impact business that shook up the condom industry. While at Sir Richard’s, Jim drove the company into 10,000 stores, two continents, and nearly triple-digit YOY revenue growth in just 24 months, transforming Sir Richard’s into the fastest growing company in its category and the number one family planning brand in the natural/organic industry. Along the way, and as part of the company's social impact mission, Jim launched a highly-acclaimed condom distribution program in Haiti with the esteemed Partners in Health. His achievements were noted when he was chosen in 2013 by DETAILS Magazine as a “Maker of the Year” — one of 34 visionaries that included the likes of Pharell Williams, NIKE and Cadillac.
Previously, Jim served as senior strategist at the creative shop, Crispin, Porter + Bogusky, working with clients such as Al Gore’s Climate Reality project and Microsoft's global campaigns. From CP+B, Jim served as managing director at one of the most successful boutique creative agencies in the United States, TDA_Boulder. Prior to his work in advertising, Jim was an award-winning journalist, working for more than 15 years around the world. His reporting, editing, and newsroom management reached audiences at Newsweek, US News & World Report, The New York Times, and Editor & Publisher, and his commentary has appeared on such outlets as the BBC, MSNBC, and Good Morning America. He was selected as the American Journalism Fellow at the University of Oxford in 2001, where he wrote on globalization and terrorism.
Raised in New Jersey, but a Colorado resident for the past 23 years, Jim earned a B.A. from Hobart College (New York) in International Affairs, and a Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Today, Jim serves on the board of Arms Around the Child, a global charity alleviating extreme poverty for orphaned children. He lives in Boulder, CO., with his wife, two children, two rescued dogs, two bee hives, and (at last count) 13 chickens and a very happy rooster.
